The North Face makes so many gloves we were spoilt for choice, but we were tempted by these, with an extra little feature that will mean you’re able to make like Kenton Cool and Tweet from the top of the Everest – or wherever your adventures take you.

Yep, the Etip in these gloves’ name refers to the tips of the thumbing index finger which are compatible with touch-screen devices. This is through the X-Static fabric on the tips, which has a layer of silver bonded to the material.

Other than this, the gloves are made from Gore Windstopper, which will block the wind, and this is treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) that will resist some precipitation. There is an anti-slip panel across the palm and up the index and middle fingers, which will give good grip on trekking poles or reduce the risk of that phone slipping out of your hand. The gloves are snug, fit nicely and come in men’s and women’s.
