This is a simple, practical, good-value bag to get us started from Highlander Outdoor. At 90 litres it will take enough kit for middling sized trips (there’s also a 120-litre version available). It’s made from heavy duty PVC so it’s super tough, while being quite light, and it folds away quite small when you’re not using it.

There are lots of ways of carrying the bag. It has a fabric grab handle at each end, or handles at the sides. Or, if you’re going to be lugging it any distance, there are padded adjustable rucksack straps so you can stick it on your back.

As well as the main storage compartment there are extra pockets: a small one at each end and a zip up mesh pocket in the lid.

There are also four daisy chain loops on top of the bag for attaching extra bits of kit such as waterproof jackets, and there’s a slot for a name and address card for identifying the bag. There are compression straps over the top to keep everything neat too.

Highlander Lomond Tarpaulin Duffel 90L Verdict

A useful, no-frills bag at a great price.
