Meet the remarkable man on a mission to complete an ultra triathlon around Britain

Author: Rob Slade

Recent years have seen a substantial increase in social media savvy adventurers, but not many are able to match the panache of Sean Conway.

With an impressive ability to put himself through incredibly tough endurance challenges, Sean has many remarkable accomplishments behind him.

He has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in a penguin suit and cycled the world (part of which was done with a fractured spine), but it is on these shores where many of his adventures take place.

Over the past few years he has swam the length of Britain, cycled it and ran it, too. Remarkably, Sean is now currently taking on all three disciplines as part of his British ultra triathlon, a journey of 4,000 miles.

So far he has completed the cycle leg of the triathlon and has taken a large chunk out of the run with 3,611 miles covered up to this point in total. When he reaches Brighton he will then swim all the way across to Lulworth Cove in just two weeks.

He’s clearly an inspirational chap, and the great thing is that he documents all of his adventures through his Instagram account giving us a glimpse into the conditions, pain and elation that he encounters along the way. Give him a follow and we’re sure you’ll be planning your own adventures in no time at all.

Oh, he’s got a pretty impressive beard too…
