If you’re anything like us, you’re always on the lookout for an amazing adventure to take on next. Well, if this video is anything to go by, the John Muir Trail deserves a place at the very top of your bucket list.

Passing through the national parks of Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia, the John Muir Trail is one of the most famous long-distance hikes in America, and for good reason, too.

The 210-mile trail, named in honour of Scottish environmentalist John Muir, is almost entirely situated in the High Sierra backcountry and wilderness areas, making it a truly raw and remarkable experience.

Hikers walking the full track (roughly 1,500 are thought to attempt the entire trail each year) have the pleasure of enjoying plenty of alpine and high mountain scenery, with the majority of the trail sitting above 2,400m.

Walking the trail in its entirety is an extremely special experience, and one that you would not forget in a hurry.

Now, we know it’s a tough task to get enough time off of work to head over to the States and complete the trail, so in the meantime you’ll just have to make do with this stunning video.

Filmed by a group of friends, the footage gives a glimpse into some of the highlights from their 25 days of hiking.

Expect to see incredible mountain vistas, picture-perfect campsites and plenty of gnarly river crossings. Generally speaking, it just looks like one truly amazing adventure, and we can’t wait to get out there ourselves
