Boasting some of the world’s most spectacular UNESCO-listed sites, a rich cultural heritage spanning centuries, and a plethora of hiking trails through the rugged scenery of the Caucasus, Armenia is fast becoming the destination to watch for travellers with a passion for the outdoors. From trekking to cycling, skiing to snowshoeing, adventure lovers will find no shortage of activities to get stuck into.
To ensure you’re truly making the most out of your holiday time though, having a local expert based in the destination to create your trip is the way to go, which is why we’ve got together with Evaneos, the platform that connects travellers with the best local travel agencies around the world, to offer you and a travel companion the chance to experience Armenia yourself on an eight-day ‘Hiking to the Highest Summit’ tour created by Hakob, their hand-picked local specialist there.
Starting off in the ‘Pink City’ of Yerevan, you’ll be led by an experienced local guide across Armenia’s mountain-lined landscapes, stopping off to visit a handful of the country’s most significant sites like the Temple of Garni, Lake Sevan, Geghard Cave Monastery, and Amberd Fortress. To top it all off, you’ll also have the unforgettable challenge of climbing Armenia’s highest mountain, Mount Aragats (3,879m), whilst experiencing the warmth and hospitality of the country’s extraordinarily friendly local people along the way.
