- Eligibility
The competition will end at 23.59 on Friday 8 March 2019. Entries after this time will not count.
One entry per person.
The winner and their chosen travel companion must travel together (on both outbound/inbound flights). Both must hold a passport valid for six months from date of return and hold the necessary visa and/or passport for travel to Armenia.
The prize trip (including flights) will be valid a year from the date of winner chosen, subject to availability.
Blackout dates and weather restrictions may apply.
Flights are subject to availability.
Those entering after the competition closing date will not be counted.
Unless specified otherwise entrants must only enter the competition once and must use their legal name. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who uses multiple names and to require them to return any prize they may have won. Entrants may not enter or participate as part of a syndicate or on behalf of any other person, syndicate, group, society or company. You may not enter the competition using automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permits any person to enter the competition repeatedly.
The promoter cannot be held liable for IT system failures or delays or loss of entries.
- The Prize includes
The prize is for two people to go on Evaneos’ ‘Reaching the Highest Summit’ tour. The trip itinerary includes:
- Airport transfers (within Armenia)
- 7 nights’ accommodation: 4 nights in a 3* hotel and 3 nights of camping in tents.
- Soft mattresses for the tents
- Transfer of tents and suitcases to the mountains
- Vehicle with air-conditioning
- Half-board (all breakfasts, 5 lunches, 4 dinners)
- Water, tea, or coffee during meals throughout the whole trip
- All excursions and cultural visits outlined in the tour programme
- Entrance fees for museums and historical monuments outlined in the tour programme
- An English-speaking guide for the 1st and 2nd day
- A local attendant for hiking and climbing on days 3, 4, 5, and 6.
The prize also includes a flight budget of £800 (£400 per person and no more) towards international flights to Yerevan, Armenia for the travelling competition winner (and their chosen companion) for the sole purpose of going on the relevant competition itinerary detailed above. Any flight costs over this figure must be covered by the competition winner. If the flight cost comes in under £400 per person, any remaining flight budget will not be distributed in any way to the competition winner, and will remain with Evaneos.
- The prize does not include
The prize does not include any additional travel costs not specified in the prize, including:
- Travel to/from the specified UK airport
- Food and beverages not specifically mentioned in the itinerary
- Spending money
- Hiking and camping equipment (sticks, sleeping bags, footwear, sunglasses, etc)
- Any other excursions, travel, accommodation, attractions or tips not outlined in the itinerary
- Any other personal or medical costs
- Travel insurance
- Additional luggage allowance
- Tips for local guides or drivers
All trips will begin in Yerevan and the winner and travel companion are responsible for making their way to their home departure airport and for arranging any necessary visas, insurance, and vaccinations in advance of their trip.
The prize cannot be exchanged for a cash alternative.
The promoter reserves the right to provide an alternative prize of similar value should the specified prize become unavailable for any reason.
Optional activities and travel insurance are not included in the prize.
It is strongly advised that prize winners obtain travel insurance for the duration of their trip, pre-departure.
- The winner
The winner will be selected randomly.
Attempts will be made to notify the winner by the email provided at the time of entry.
The Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to contact the winners using the contact details supplied upon entry. If a winner does not respond within 14 business days of the first notification, the winner forfeits their right to claim the prize. The Promoter shall not be responsible should a winner provide incorrect contact details, and should a winner’s contact details change, it is their responsibility to notify us.
If a category winner is unable to take up their prize for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to award it to an alternative winner, in which case the first winner chosen will not be eligible for any share of the prize whatsoever.
The Promoter, Prize Providers, and any associated third party accept no liability for any loss, expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with the promotion or the winners’ enjoyment of the prize, other than such liability that cannot be excluded by law including death or personal injury caused by negligence, where liability shall be limited to the minimum permissible by law.
The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the terms of this prize and without notice in the unlikely event of a major catastrophe, war, unrest, earthquake or any similar event, or any actual, anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation, or if travel would be contrary to UK Foreign Office advice, or if circumstances arise outside of its control that prevent the implementation of the prize.
If the Promoter, having used reasonable efforts, is unable to contact the winner, then the prize is forfeited, and further draw(s) will be conducted.
The prize is strictly non-transferable to another person.
Acceptance of these terms and conditions is a condition of entry.
Adventure Travel and Evaneos’ decision is final.
- Data
The competition is free to enter. No purchase is necessary and you can enter without being added to the Evaneos Newsletter Database. The Promoter and Prize Provider will use entrants’ personal data for direct marketing purposes where consent has been provided via the opt-in tick boxes provided. This includes communications containing news, offers, and information. You have the right to ask us for more information about the safeguards put in place for transfer of data. You also have the right to opt-out at any time, by following the links in the communications to you.
