Where would we be without maps?
For adventurers, this is an important question! From GPS, to the lifesavers that are everlasting paper maps, to good old Google, what else would we rely on to get us over, under and through our various exploits?
Ordnance Survey are really the OGs when it comes to navigating Britain. They’ve been making more and more precise maps since 21 June 1791 (the military inspired birthday of Ordnance Survey). You may still know and love them for their foldable leisure maps that span the length and breadth of the isles, but nowadays they are also integral in geospatial data for businesses and government and help map everything from flood risk areas to green energy potential.
They’re truly a British institution and they help us understand and cherish the wild spaces we love so much.
