There are some countries on this planet that seem to figure quite highly on the bucket list for most of us. Places like Norway, Canada and New Zealand are just a few that come to mind. But another on that list has to be Iceland.

Whether it’s a recent phenomenon or not, it seems that when people see photos of this Nordic island their eyes just seem to light up with intrigue, fascination and joy.

Well, we can certainly understand why. The country is characterised by sand and lava fields, countless mountains and glaciers, as well as unbelievable coastal landscapes. Beyond that, the country is also well known for being bathed by the midnight sun and the Northern Lights.

Fortunately, for those of us who are yet to visit, we are able to get a glimpse of the country’s mesmerising scenery thanks to the countless videos and photos on the internet. But not many come close to the beauty of the following timelapse. You can watch it below, but beware… you’ll probably be booking a plane ticket immediately after!
