In 2010, after one too many sad and soggy camping trips, Fiaz and Ollie asked themselves; “why camp basic when you could camp boutique?”. And with that, Boutique Camping was born.
Initially, they focused in on one tent design for the ultimate comfortable, stress-free camping. Now, 13 years later, they have a number of exclusive designs that, despite having all the bells and whistles you’d want from a boutique camping experience, are easy to set up, pack down and transport.
One of those is the Star Bell Tent. Sleeping up to eight people, this decadent number has internal pockets, an electric hook up flap to protect wires, a zip-able ground sheet, and roll up walls with anti-bug mesh, UV-, rot- and water-repellence. That’s a lot of things to fit into one tent and yet it still has a simple set up.
The Set Up
You might be thinking that from the look of this tent it would be more hassle than it’s worth to pitch, but you’d be wrong. Pitching the Star Bell is very intuitive and can be done is as little as 10 minutes once you know your poles from your pegs.
- Lay out and secure the groundsheet
- Erect the centre pole in the middle of the cone roof and ground sheet
- Slot together the A-frame and fix it to the door
- Thread the flexi-pole through the canopy and peg it
- Secure the guy ropes and webbing, ensuring even tension all around, and peg them to the ground
