Montane launches new Gore-Tex collection

British gear-manufacturer Montane has launched a series of new products as part of its forthcoming Gore-Tex collection for autumn/winter.

The new range follows the news that the firm has become the first technical outdoor manufacturer to receive a Gore license in over a decade.

Speaking of the news, Montane’s brand director Jonathan Petty said: “From the outset, our philosophy has always been about enabling aspiring athletes to go further, faster by offering a combination of premium, specifically selected fabric technologies, cutting edge construction techniques and ensuring that our clothing and accessories are designed for distinct outdoor mountain pursuits.

“Earning this Gore license is a great testament to our development and passion for applying and adhering to these principles. We are excited that this new partnership will see outdoor enthusiasts benefit from Montane’s exclusive designs combined with the total weather protection offered by Gore-Tex.”

The new range will feature three different Gore fabric technologies which are:

  • Gore-Tex Pro for intense activities and extreme weather conditions
  • Gore-Tex Active for high aerobic activities and cooler, mixed weather
  • Gore C-Knit backer technology for low to mid activity levels and variable weather conditions

Montane’s new Gore-Tex range will comprise of shell and softshell jackets, trousers and accessories. You can check out some of the new products below.

Montane Endurance Pro Jacket – £430

Montane Endurance Pro Jacket

The fully featured Endurance Pro Jacket tops the range and has been designed to handle the most extreme mountaineering conditions while catering for the technical requirements of both climbers and alpinists.

Key features include larger chest and bicep dimensions to accommodate for multiple layers, a fully adjustable, roll-away helmet-compatible hood with wired peak, a tall collar and, of course, a combination of 40 Denier Gore-Tex Pro and 70 Denier Gore-Tex Pro fabrics.

Montane Alpine Pro Jacket – £330

Montane Alpine Pro Jacket

Available in both men’s and women’s the Alpine Pro Jacket is a more lightweight option which has been designed to be extremely versatile and capable enough to deal with both alpine pursuits and mountain walking.

Some of the jacket’s most notable features include angled pit zips for ventilation, a similar hood to the Endurance Pro and the lighter 40 Denier Gore-Tex Pro fabric.

Montane Surge Jacket – £300

Montane Surge Jacket

Designed to offer versatile weather protection for mountain walkers and backpackers, the lightweight Surge Jacket is less technical than the items above, but is still expected offer a good level of weather protection thanks to the 30 Denier Gore C-Knit backer technology.

Montane Spine Jacket – £250

Montane Spine Jacket

Designed with fast-paced mountain pursuits in mind, the Spine Jacket offers a minimalist design in an effort to deliver a lightweight and extremely packable garment.

Available in men’s and women’s, the garment is constructed from a 30 Denier Gore-Tex Active waterproof fabric and comes complete with pit zips and a fitted, pre-elasticated trail hood.
