The Caucasus 600 is one of many down sleeping bags we have tested for Adventure Travel magazine and, although prices are getting higher, at £169.99 it’s good value for a down bag. Robens’ camping kit has a good reputation in the Adventure Travel office – we’ve found that if you want quality kit at reasonable prices, Robens is a good place to start looking.

The most attractive features of the Caucasus 600 are its weight and pack size. Once compressed it fits nicely into a rucksack and the stuff sack is excellent – it’s fully waterproof with taped seams. The temperature rating will cover you for all but the coldest of three-season adventures and you’d get away with using it over winter in milder countries. Plus, you could always add a sleeping bag liner to boost the warmth if you expect to be cutting it close in this regard.

You also get internal pockets for stashing valuables, adjustable neck and face baffles and an almost full-length zip for ventilation. There is also an ergonomic foot bed and an anti-snag zip guard that actually works – and that’s in itself is worth applauding.

Robens Caucasus 600 verdict

The Robens Caucasus 600 is an excellent sleeping bag that is available for a very respectable price.
